Became a Christian July 3, 1995 before that I was lost!
On July 6, 1997, S.L.Beckes was ordained by the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association through his church Living Waters Tabernacle. There he held the office of Sunday School Superintendent for the years 2000 until 2002 and today holds the title of Evangelist, Elder and Promotional Director.
Heâs currently a vice President, for the Oklahoma City chapter, of the Full Gospel Business Menâs Fellowship in America and the President of GNR Ministries, Inc. a non-profit organization. Heâs also the owner / founder of The Good News Report, a Christian newspaper/magazine and in 2003 he was put in charge of promotions for the International Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance Institute located in NE Oklahoma City.
Rev. Beckes produced for 9 years Good News the radio program, and in June of 2007 he produced and hosted Good News the TV program seen (twice a month) in Oklahoma City, on Cox cable TV 19, for 11 years.
Heâs a full time minister and writer for the Lord and the author of nine books, The Home of Jesus, Little Books one and two, âIn Every Boyâs Heart,â âOut of Darkness In To the Lightâ to name a few.
In 1996 from âThe Famous Poets Society he received, âThe Diamond Homer Award,â for writing the best Christmas poem in America, for that year.
On April 19, 1996 he was published in the Congressional Record, in Washington DC, for his writing, âThe Heart of America,â a powerful poem concerning the tragedy of 9:02 in OKC.

om Frank Keating, then Governor, he was proclaimed âThe Oklahoma Poetâ and has been trademarked as âThe Oklahoma Poetâ for the past 14 years.
In 1998 he worked in promotions for the K.A. Paul Crusade held at the Myriad in OKC and in the year 2000 he was given the title of State representative in charge of promotions, for the Bill Glass Prison Ministry weekend of champions, where over 1,400 men and women received Jesus. He also worked for The Champions for Life promotions in 2003 where 1,903 made a decision for Christ.
In February of 2003 Reverend Beckes was invited to Puerto Rico to minister at five different churches and one college. During this time the Lord moved mightily. Many miracles were witnessed and over 150 men, women and children came to the Lord.
In August of 2000, God gave Reverend Beckes a gift, something to share with the world, that has literally changed his life and the life of many who witness that gift.
Reverend Beckes has been on TBN six times and has been a public speaker traveling wherever and whenever God opens that door.
The Oklahoma Poet studies the Word of God and stays in tune with the Spirit of the Lord writing what God tells him is needed for this hour at this time.
In December 2011, Reverend Beckes, entered his fifteenth year of publishing the only independent Christian newspaper, now a Magazine in the OKC area, The Good News Report. The past 12 years, heâs been blessing many, by singing and writing songs that glorify God and touch the heart of man. Currently heâs written 155 songs, produced fourteen CDâs, three Christian music Videos plus Two of his books are now offered on CD. On August 12, 2006, He was blessed to open as a minister in song for Mr. Michael English a well known Christian singer and to God he gives all glory.
On May 20, 2007 Rev. Beckes became Dr. S.L. Beckes and 07/07/07 he and Sandra D. Simmons became husband and wife. Praise God.
